The hostel was a stud "parade", governed by the army, where mare mating services were rendered to the neighbours coming from all over Maraña valley.
It was built by the mare owners in order for the army to settle here.
Afterwards, once this activity was abandoned, the building was deteriorating for many years, until the beginning of the new millenium, when the refurbishment works began to transform it into the current Maraña hostel.
The hostel is heated by a central heating system.
The dinning room has also a wood stove and is designed with a bar, for customer convenience.
We have TV screen and Wi-Fi, if you want to project an audiovisual presentation.
The hostel is easy to access by car.

It has a wonderful location with spectacular views of Mampodre Massif on the South and of the Peña Hoguera on the North. There is a great vertical wall of 70 meters high, waiting for being equipped with new routes until very expert grades.
